Tehran denies supplying combat drones to Russia amid Ukraine conflict

11 July 2024 16:57

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has firmly denied allegations that Tehran has supplied combat drones to Russia for use in the conflict in Ukraine.

Kanaani emphasized that Iran's strategy has always been to play a constructive role in establishing stable security both regionally and globally.

"The strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been to play a constructive role in establishing stable security in the region and the world. It has never provided Russia with drones," Kanaani stated, Caliber.Az reports referring to the official website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Kanaani criticized any attempts to link the development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Iran with the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis. He argued that such claims demonstrate the bias of Western countries and serve as an effort to justify continued military assistance to Ukraine.

"Any attempt to link the development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Iran with the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis shows the bias of Western countries and attempts to 'justify the further continuation of military assistance to Ukraine,'" the diplomat said.
