Tehran rebuffs Washington bid to monitor Iranian ships

Iran has not agreed and does not intend to agree to any US protocol allowing inspections of Iranian vessels after the lifting of maritime restrictions, according to Tasnim News Agency, citing an informed source.

The source stated that the draft memorandum does not include any provision granting the United States authority to inspect or monitor Iranian ships following the removal of maritime restrictions.

Iran, the source emphasized, will not permit such measures under any circumstances.
