Tehran reports UAV strikes on Palmachim and Uvda air bases, Shin Bet HQ in Israel video
The armed forces of Iran said they carried out a series of drone strikes against strategic sites in Israel, according to an official military communiqué.
In communiqué No. 24, published by the state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the Iranian army said the targets included the Palmachim Airbase and Uvda Airbase, as well as the headquarters of Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service.
According to statements from Tehran, the Palmachim base was selected as a target because it functions as a key hub for missile defence systems and serves as a testing site for missile technologies.
The Iranian report also described Uvda Airbase as a location where F-22 Raptor fighter jet aircraft operated by the US Air Force are deployed.
Iranian officials said the strike on the Shin Bet headquarters was justified by the agency’s role in coordinating Israel’s internal security and protecting the country’s senior leadership.
