Tehran says 82 drones destroyed since start of conflict
Iran’s air defence forces shot down 13 attacking drones over the past 24 hours, according to the latest statement from the Islamic Republic of Iran Army.
The report, cited by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, refers to Statement No. 16 issued by the army regarding ongoing air defence operations.
According to the statement, the intercepted drones included models such as the MQ-9 Reaper, Hermes UAV, and Orbiter UAV. The aircraft were reportedly destroyed using missile and artillery systems operated by the army’s ground forces, air defence units, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iranian forces conducted the interceptions in several regions of the country, including the northwest, west, and south, as well as in Isfahan Province, Kerman Province, and Tehran Province.
The army also stated that since the beginning of the current conflict, air defence units of the army and the IRGC have destroyed a total of 82 drones.
