Tehran warns of maritime blockade in Persian Gulf, Red Sea
16 April 2026 13:51
Iran has threatened to block key maritime routes in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.
The statement was made by Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Caliber.Az reports.
If the U.S. blockade persists, we will halt all trade in the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea. If it continues, Red Sea shipping will also be stopped. Such actions will be seen as a step toward violating the ceasefire. pic.twitter.com/kXkVcJqqu2
