Telecommunications tower hit in southern Iran amid US airstrikes
A telecommunications tower in southern Iran was struck by two projectiles in the Sirik area, according to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, which cited an informed source.
"According to a well-informed source, two projectiles struck a telecommunications tower in the Sirik area," the broadcaster reported.
The incident comes amid reports of U.S. military strikes targeting sites in the region. PBS NewsHour correspondent Nick Schifrin, citing a U.S. official, said American aircraft carried out attacks on four targets near Sirik.
According to Schifrin, six U.S. military aircraft struck radar installations and a warehouse reportedly used to store missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the area.
