Messaging platform Telegram has intensified content moderation in 2026, blocking over 150,000 channels and groups just over the past weekend for violating platform rules, according to statistics reported by Caliber.Az citing foreign media.

Since the beginning of 2026, the total number of removed communities has reached 11.1 million. The main reasons for these sanctions include spam, promotion of violence, and illegal content.
