Ten Pentagon employees injured in bus collision near Washington
A traffic collision involving two passenger buses near the Pentagon in the United States has left 23 people injured.
The incident occurred at around 07:20 local time on a roadway leading to a metro station near the Pentagon complex, when buses operated by OmniRide and Fairfax Connector collided, Fox News reports, citing the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
Among the injured are ten U.S. Department of Defense employees. Authorities said 18 people were taken to hospital for medical evaluation and treatment, while five others received assistance at the scene. The severity of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Emergency services quickly responded to the accident site, and traffic in the area was partially restricted following the crash. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the collision.
