Thailand’s court suspends prime minister for ethics violations
14 August 2024 16:30
Thailand’s Constitutional Court has suspended Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from office after finding him guilty of violating ethics rules.
The court's decision follows allegations of irregularities in the appointment of Pichit Chuenban as a minister of the Prime Minister’s Office in a Cabinet reshuffle in April 2024, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
In a vote of nine judges, five supported the dismissal of Thavisin, concluding that he breached ethical standards in the appointment process.
