The Hague city hall evacuated after man claims to have bomb

Police in The Hague, Netherlands, detained a 28-year-old man on May 28 after an incident at the city hall, where he claimed to be carrying a bomb. No explosives were found.
According to Hart van, the man entered the city hall with a backpack and informed security that he had a bomb. Authorities subsequently evacuated the city hall building, as well as nearby streets and facilities.
Special intervention units and negotiators were deployed to the scene. Police said the man cooperated with officers and was previously known to authorities due to erratic behaviour.
The police described the incident as serious. Psychological support was offered to witnesses of the evacuation.
