Three crew missing after blast on Thai ship in Hormuz
A Thai cargo vessel came under attack in the Strait of Hormuz after being struck by unidentified projectiles, leaving three crew members missing, according to officials.
The incident was reported by Iran International, citing information from the Ministry of Transport of Thailand.
According to the ministry, 20 crew members were rescued after abandoning the vessel in a lifeboat. They were later picked up by the Royal Navy of Oman.
Officials said the attack caused an explosion at the stern of the ship, which triggered a fire in the engine room. The three missing crew members had been working in that area at the time of the blast.
Earlier reports indicated that the Royal Thai Navy had begun providing urgent assistance following the attack on the Thai cargo ship in the strategic waterway.
