Three injured in gas station blast in Uzbekistan's Tashkent region VIDEO
Three people were injured after a massive explosion ripped through an automobile gas filling station in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Region late Thursday night, July 16, emergency officials confirmed.
The blast occurred at 22:46 local time along the strategic M-39 highway running through the Zangiata District, according to local news outlet Anhor.
According to the regional department for emergency situations, the incident was triggered when a stationary propane storage tank and a specialized gas transport vehicle exploded simultaneously, igniting a fierce fire at the facility.
First responders deployed to the scene managed to contain the spread of the flames shortly after arrival. Emergency crews successfully brought the resulting blaze under control and completely extinguished it by 00:04 on Friday, July 17.
The three injured individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff have provided them with emergency treatment. Their current conditions have not been made public.
An investigation has been launched by local authorities to determine the exact cause of the explosions.
