Three killed, 58 injured in Iran’s attack on UAE OFFICIAL
Three people were killed and 58 others injured as a result of a large-scale Iranian strike on the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The UAE Ministry of Defence reported the casualties in a post on social media platform X.
The three victims were nationals of Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Among the injured are not only UAE nationals but also citizens of Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon and Afghanistan.
According to the ministry, Tehran used 165 ballistic missiles in the attack, 152 of which were intercepted, while 13 fell into the sea. Two cruise missiles were also launched and subsequently shot down. In addition, 541 drones were directed towards the UAE, of which 506 were intercepted and destroyed, while 35 fell on the country’s territory.
The attacks on the UAE have continued for a second consecutive day. Separately, on Sunday, 1 March, the UAE’s air defence forces neutralised 20 ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles. Of the 332 drones launched by Iran, 311 were successfully intercepted.
