Three killed, ten injured in Russian overnight missile strike on Kharkiv

Three people were killed and ten others injured in a Russian missile strike on the city of Balakliia in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on the night of November 16 to 17, local authorities say.

According to Vitalii Karabanov, head of the Balakliia Military Administration, the injured include three children born in 2011, 2007 and 2010, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.

Nine of the victims have been hospitalized, while one person is receiving outpatient medical care. All are being provided with the necessary treatment, he said.

Earlier, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, noted that residential apartment buildings and parked vehicles had been damaged in the attack. Emergency rescue teams and medical personnel continue to work at the site.

The attack comes a few days after Russian forces struck a police vehicle in the Kharkiv region with an FPV drone on November 14, killing a Ukrainian police officer. On that day, Russia attacked populated areas in the Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, and Lozova districts with guided bombs and drones.

Two days earlier, on November 12, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with Geran-2 strike drones. As a result of the strikes on the Kholodnohirskyi district, five people were injured, a civilian enterprise and residential buildings were damaged, and fires broke out. Warehouses belonging to the logistics company SAT were also hit.
