Three new F-35is arrive from US to Israel

Three new fifth-generation F-35i Adir fighter-bombers arrived from Texas (USA) to Israel, landing at Nevatim Air Base on July 20.

These aircraft will be part of the 140th combat squadron "Golden Eagle,” NEWSru.co.il reports with reference to the IDF Press Service.

The IDF now has 39 F-35i airplanes in service, including the only model in the world outside the US for flight testing.

Israel previously ordered 50 F-35s from the US with an option to purchase 25 more aircraft.
