Three people injured in military plant explosion in Azerbaijan's Shirvan City UPDATED

Three people have been injured during the explosion at the military factory in Shirvan.

It is noted that on January 23, around 15:00, the city prosecutor's office received information about an explosion at "Shirvan Araz Plant" LLC under the Ministry of Defense Industry, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office.

As a result of preliminary investigations, three people - Elchin Jahangir oglu Babayev, born in 1992, Ismayil Intigam oglu Muradov, born in 2001, and Mahammad Ilham oglu Imanov, born in 1999, received various degrees of physical injuries as a result of the incident.

"Currently, the prosecutor's office is examining the scene of the incident and other necessary procedural actions are being performed.

The incident is believed to have occurred as a result of a 120-mm mortar shell being hit by a hammer in one of the plant's workshops.

An investigation is underway at the Shirvan City Prosecutor's Office. Additional information about the result will be provided," it is stated in the information.

An explosion has occurred at the Azerbaijani Defence Industry Ministry’s "Araz" factory in Shirvan City.
