Top general: US continues interdictions of Iranian vessels in Pacific, Indian oceans
The United States military will continue conducting interdiction operations in the Pacific and Indian Oceans targeting vessels linked to Iran, according to top U.S. General Dan Caine.
Speaking alongside U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Caine said U.S. forces are monitoring maritime traffic closely, particularly vessels of interest either heading toward Iran or moving away from it after having been outside designated blockade areas when restrictions were imposed, Reuters reports.
"We're closely tracking vessels of interest headed towards Iran and those moving away from Iran that were outside the blockade area when this blockade was ordered," he said. "And as everyone saw this past weekend, we're prepared and postured to intercept them."
