Tourism from Central Asia soars by 23% in Azerbaijan
From January to November 2025, Azerbaijan welcomed a total of 202,033 tourists from Central Asian countries, marking a significant increase compared to the previous year.
This represents a 23.3% rise over the same period in 2024, when 163,992 visitors from the region arrived in Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Over the 11-month period, tourist arrivals from individual Central Asian countries were as follows: Kazakhstan – 95,952 visitors (+20.3%), Uzbekistan – 56,752 (+38.6%), Turkmenistan – 29,761 (-0.7%), Kyrgyzstan – 10,618 (+34.9%), and Tajikistan – 8,950 (+66.7%).
In November 2025, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were among the top 10 countries in terms of visitor numbers. Kazakhstan ranked sixth with 8,148 tourists (+32.1%), while Uzbekistan ranked tenth with 5,781 visitors (+70%).
Overall, Azerbaijan was visited by 2,364,000 foreigners and stateless persons from 189 countries during January–November 2025, reflecting a slight 2% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
