Tourist influx from Azerbaijan doubles

The total number of Azerbaijani citizens travelling abroad in January-July this year doubled compared to the same period last year and amounted to 829.4 thousand people.

The remark came from Report news agency referring to the State Statistics Committee.

According to the information, the number of those who left for Iran increased by 4.3 times, Türkiye - by 2.2 times, Georgia - by 1.9 times and Russia - by 23.2%.

A total of 47.9% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 16.6% - Russia, 12.2% - Iran, 8.3% - Georgia, 15% - other countries.

A total of 64.8% of those who left were men and 35.2% - women.

In January-July 2022, 60.1% of travellers used air, 37.3% - rail and road, 2.6% - sea transport.
