Traffic suspended on Russian-Estonian border
The passage of motor vehicles across the Russian-Estonian border near the towns of Narva and Ivangorod has been temporarily suspended due to a decision by the Estonian side.
Following this decision, Russian customs officers also temporarily stopped the clearance and passage of transport across the border, the press service of the Northwest Customs Administration told TASS on Tuesday.
"From 8:00 on August 16, movement across the Russian-Estonian border in the Ivangorod-Narva area (MAPP Ivangorod) has been closed indefinitely. According to the Estonian side, the suspension of entry and exit of trucks and passenger cars, as well as individuals, is associated with the updating of software," the press service said.
According to the GoSwift booking system for crossing the Estonian state border, there are currently more than 550 cars in the queue to enter Russia through the Narva border checkpoint.
As ERR portal previously reported, on the morning of August 16, the dismantling of the T-34 tank monument, installed in honor of the liberation of the city by Soviet troops from the Wehrmacht in 1944, began in Narva.
