Truck carrying Afghan returnees plunges into river, leaving four dead PHOTO
At least four people were killed, eight injured and 10 remain missing after a truck carrying Afghan returnees from Pakistan plunged into a river in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province, officials said.
According to Wahidullah Mohammadi, spokesman for the Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, the accident occurred around midnight in the Khairokhel area of Sarkhakan district along the Kabul–Jalalabad highway, Ariana News reports.

Rescue teams and specialized personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, deploying heavy military equipment and support vehicles to assist with the operation.
Authorities said four bodies have so far been recovered from the river, while eight injured passengers were rescued and transferred to medical facilities for treatment. Search and rescue efforts remain underway for 10 people who are still missing.
Officials also confirmed that the truck has been recovered from the river as rescue operations continue.
