Truck processing resumes at Belarus-Lithuania border
26 January 2026 09:42
Lithuania has resumed processing trucks at its border with Belarus after operations were suspended on January 24, Belarus’ Border Committee reported on its official Telegram channel.
“Lithuanian control services have fully resumed processing of freight vehicles,” the statement said.
In October 2025, Lithuanian authorities closed border checkpoints following shipments of contraband balloons. In response, Belarus stopped allowing Lithuanian trucks to cross the border. In November, Vilnius reopened the checkpoints but warned they could be closed again. Currently, two out of six crossing points are operational.
