Trump administration signals military option against Cuba

The United States is considering all options for further action against Cuba, including military force, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told journalists.

“All options are on the table-to include military options,” Hegseth said in response to a question about the possibility of US military action against the Caribbean nation.

“I think Cuba would be wise to pay attention to the willingness of President Trump to assert American strategic prerogatives, and their certainty is no match for the United States of America” he added.

Hegseth said Washington has “a lot of options” for further action against Cuba, without providing details on what measures could be under consideration.

The remarks come amid growing tensions between Washington and Havana and a series of statements from the Trump administration regarding possible action against Cuba.

On March 5, US President Donald Trump said Washington would develop a further course of action toward Cuba after concluding its operation against Iran.
