Trump calls Canada “nasty” as he blasts allies over tariffs

US President Donald Trump described Canada as a “nasty” country while criticising Washington's allies for imposing tariffs on the United States during an event in Las Vegas.

“Canada's nasty. They are, they're nasty,” Trump said, adding that while he loved the Canadian people, they had “nasty leadership,” Caliber.Az reports.

The American leader also said he would prefer to resolve differences with Iran through diplomacy rather than military action, noting that Tehran respected the United States, that the two sides are negotiating and that they would see what came of it. 

“I'd rather make a deal [with Iran] because I don't want to kill people,” he added.

Addressing Venezuela, Trump said the United States was now “doing great” with the country, pointing to oil flows and improved ties before remarking, “To the victor belong the spoils, right?"

Trump also joked that he could become the greatest communist in history.
