Trump claims $13 trillion investments secured during Middle East trip
US President Donald Trump claimed on May 16 that the United States is experiencing an unparalleled wave of investment, estimating the total value of current and upcoming projects at between $12 and $13 trillion.
Speaking at a USA-UAE Business Council breakfast roundtable, Trump said the scale of investment entering the US is without historical precedent, Caliber.Az reports.
“There’s never been anything like it. We are at a level that no country has seen, I believe. We have…and every time I meet I usually increase it by about a trillion dollars because we get news of another investment. But we are probably in the 12-13 trillion dollars investment in,” the president said.
Trump suggested that no previous administration had come close to achieving such numbers, noting that past efforts fell short of the $8 trillion mark. He emphasised that many of the projects have already been announced, with additional ones expected in the near future.
“I think we are heading to between 12-13 trillion dollars between projects already announced, mostly announced. But some are going to be announced very shortly,” he stated.
