Trump claims Iran spared women protesters from execution

US President Donald Trump has stated that the death sentences for eight women involved in protests in Iran have been overturned.

“Very good news! I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He also thanked Iran’s leadership, stating that the authorities had responded to his appeal.
