Trump claims US naval blockade against Iran “most successful in history”

US President Donald Trump has claimed that a US naval blockade targeting Iran is highly effective, describing it as the most successful blockade in naval history.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that media outlets were refusing to report on what he described as the effectiveness of the operation. He stated that, in his view, nothing is able to pass through the blockade unless Washington permits it, calling it a “steel wall," Caliber.Az reports. 

He further asserted that Iran is conducting no meaningful business activity, struggling to pay its military and financial obligations, and rapidly turning into what he described as a failed state.

He also claimed that while most commerce is being halted, some Iranian oil exports are still leaving the country.

"Iran is doing ZERO business, not paying their military, or any of their bills, and quickly becoming a FAILED NATION! Lots of oil is getting out," he wrote.
