Trump denies Epstein link to first lady, backs lawsuit against former president’s son

Former President Donald Trump has denied claims made by Hunter Biden that he met his wife, Melania Trump, through convicted Jeffrey Epstein.

Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, alleged in an interview with Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan on July 22 that “according to [Trump’s] biographer, Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania.” Citing journalist and Trump biographer Michael Wolff, Biden said, “That’s how... the first lady and the president met. Yeah, according to Michael Wolff,” Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

In response, Melania Trump threatened legal action unless Hunter Biden retracts what her lawyers described as “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements.” As of August 14, Biden has refused to retract the claim.

Trump addressed the controversy during an interview on Fox News Radio with host Brian Kilmeade. He rejected the allegation, insisting Epstein had no involvement in his relationship with Melania.

“I said go forward. You know, I’ve done pretty well on these lawsuits lately… and Jeffrey Epstein had nothing to do with Melania and introducing,” Trump said. “But they do that to demean, they make up stories. I mean I can tell you exactly how it was and it was another person actually… but it wasn’t Jeffrey Epstein.”

Trump added that he encouraged his wife to pursue legal action: “I told her go ahead and do it. I’d rather use my lawyers – very upset about it.”

The claims come as the Biden administration faces pressure to declassify all documents related to Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

A photograph from 2000 showing Melania Trump alongside Epstein, Prince Andrew, and Gwendolyn Beck has resurfaced amid the controversy, further fueling public speculation.

Hunter Biden, now a businessman and artist, has been vocal in recent weeks, defending his father and criticizing Democrats like George Clooney who urged Joe Biden to step down due to his battle with advanced prostate cancer.
