Trump dismisses threats from Iran’s security chief: “I couldn't care less”
08 March 2026 16:34
US President Donald Trump said he is unconcerned by threats from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani.
"I have no idea what he's talking about, who he is. I couldn't care less," Trump told CBS News in an interview, adding that Larijani has "already been defeated."
Larijani had warned that Trump must “pay the price” for US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The president also stated that he believes Larijani “has already been defeated.”
Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and a longtime confidant of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has emerged as one of Iran's most high-profile leaders in the wake of Khamenei's Feb. 28 killing on the first day of the war.
