Trump endorses joke proposal to make Rubio Cuba's president
US President Donald Trump has endorsed a tongue-in-cheek suggestion that Secretary of State Marco Rubio should become the president of Cuba.
“That sounds good,” Trump wrote in Truth Social in response to a user’s post jokingly proposing Rubio for the Cuban presidency, per Caliber.Az.
Trump’s reaction sparked discussion on social media and drew media attention, given Rubio’s active role in foreign policy and Latin American affairs.
Trump also suggested Cuba should strike a deal with the United States, warning that the island nation would no longer receive oil or money.
"THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA - ZERO! I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
