Trump extends Iran ceasefire until Tehran submits plan to end conflict
22 April 2026 01:08
US President Donald Trump has stated that he will extend the ceasefire with Iran, at Pakistan’s request, until Tehran submits a proposal to permanently end the conflict.
"Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal," Trump wrote on his Truth Social page.
The US military in the Middle East remains on high alert, while the naval blockade of Iranian ports will continue, the American leader added.
