Trump floats White House football gathering with former US presidents

U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested inviting former presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden and George W. Bush to the White House to watch an American football game together, saying such an event would make for "a great story."

Trump made the remarks during an appearance on the Storytime with the Second Lady podcast, hosted by Usha Vance, the wife of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, Caliber.Az reports.

While browsing the book Presidents Play, which explores the hobbies and recreational interests of U.S. presidents, Trump said a football gathering involving current and former presidents would attract significant public attention.

"The press would just go crazy," Trump said, referring to the idea of watching a game together with his predecessors.

During the conversation, Trump also joked about the 27th U.S. president, William Howard Taft, saying he had no desire to surpass Taft's well-known weight record.

The president also spoke positively about former President Bill Clinton, describing him as "a good guy" and saying he still likes him.

The comments came during a light-hearted discussion about the personal interests and traditions of past American presidents.
