Trump, Harris equal in voter support in US Survey shows 

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his rival from Democratic party Kamala Harris are now tied in voter support, just within two weeks before the election in the US.

Proceeding from survey results published on the website of the Emerson College Analytics Service, both Trump and Harris received support from 49 per cent of respondents, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

Moreover, 1 per cent of those surveyed failed to answer, while another 1 per cent preferred to vote for a different candidate. 

“When there are just ten days left until the election, the national poll reveals that the electorate is divided,” Executive Director of Emerson College Polling Spencer Kimball commented on the survey results. 

The poll was conducted from October 23 to 24 and included approximately 1,000 potential American voters. The margin of error was 3 per cent.

The 2024 US presidential election is set for November 5, 2024, with the winning candidate poised to serve a four-year term beginning in January 2025. The president has the authority to enact certain laws independently but primarily collaborates with Congress to pass legislation. In foreign affairs, the president holds significant power in representing the US and shaping its diplomatic policies.

In the Republican Party, former president Donald Trump has secured a commanding lead over his competitors, ultimately becoming the official nominee at the party convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump has selected Ohio Senator JD Vance as his vice-presidential running mate.

On the Democratic side, Vice-President Kamala Harris has entered the race following President Joe Biden's withdrawal, with no other Democratic contenders emerging against her. Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
