Trump: Iran must say “we give up”

US President Donald Trump has stated that Washington expects Iran to openly acknowledge defeat and abandon its resistance.

He made the remarks at a White House press conference.

“All they have to do is just say: ‘We give up. We give up.’ But their economy is really in trouble. So it’s a dead economy,” the US leader said.

Trump added that negotiations with Tehran are being conducted mostly by phone, without long flights, and even the signing of documents is coordinated remotely.

“They've come a long way. The question is whether or not they're going to go far enough. So at this moment there will never be a deal unless they agree that there will be no nuclear weapons,” the president stressed.
