Trump: Iran willing to talk but it is "too late"

Iran has reportedly indicated that it is ready to enter talks with the United States following recent strikes, but US President Donald Trump has dismissed the overture as coming too late.

“Their air defense, Air Force, Navy, and Leadership is gone. They want to talk. I said ‘Too Late!’” Trump wrote on Truth Social, Caliber.Az reports. 

The president’s remarks came in response to an opinion piece published by The Washington Post, which argued that critics are wrong to claim Trump’s decision to strike Iran contradicts his pledge to avoid “forever wars.”

According to the article, the military action does not represent the start of a prolonged conflict but rather an effort to bring one to an end.
