Trump jokes that Democrats should nominate Harris again
US President Donald Trump has jokingly suggested that Democrats nominate former Vice President Kamala Harris as their presidential candidate again, despite her defeat to him in the 2024 election.
Speaking at a police academy in Nassau County, Trump criticised Harris over her record on border security while she served as vice president under former President Joe Biden, Caliber.Az reports.
“And then we had a border czar, as you remember, Kamala. She was a border czar. She never went to the border and she never once called Border Patrol. Other than that, she did an excellent job. She was a great candidate. I think they should run her again. She was a great candidate,” he said sarcastically.
Harris was the Democratic nominee in the November 2024 presidential election, which Trump won, securing a second term in the White House. He previously served as US president from 2017 to 2021.
