Trump lands in Tel Aviv
US President Donald Trump landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on October 13, as the Gaza hostage-prisoner release gets underway.
He will deliver remarks to the Knesset before travelling to Egypt for the international summit on the Gaza ceasefire agreement, per Viory.
The truce, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, the US and Türkiye, includes the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, with later phases set to address Gaza’s governance and reconstruction.
According to Israeli officials, around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees are being transferred ahead of release. Hamas says 41 hostages remain in Gaza, with about 20 believed to be alive.
The meeting in Sharm El Sheikh brings together more than 20 world leaders, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, to discuss the US-brokered peace agreement aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.
