Trump mocks Stephen Colbert after cancellation of CBS’ The Late Show VIDEO
US President Donald Trump reacted to the cancellation of The Late Show by posting an AI-generated video depicting host Stephen Colbert being thrown into a rubbish bin by Trump.
The video was shared on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, following the broadcast of the programme’s final episode on May 21, Caliber.Az reports.
Colbert, one of Trump’s most outspoken critics in American late-night television, had hosted The Late Show since 2015 after succeeding David Letterman.
CBS previously announced the cancellation of the programme, citing financial reasons. However, some viewers and commentators interpreted the decision as a concession to Trump, who was frequently mocked and criticised on the show.
In an earlier post on Truth Social, Trump welcomed the cancellation, writing: “Stephen Colbert’s firing from CBS was the ‘Beginning of the End’ for untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and very poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts. Others, of even less talent, to soon follow. May they all Rest in Peace!”
