Trump narrows the gap with Harris in latest polling
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has closed the gap with his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, to just 3 percentage points, according to a recent poll.
The survey, conducted by Reuters jointly with Ipsos from October 4 to 7, shows Harris receiving support from 46% of respondents, while Trump trails closely at 43%, Caliber.Az reports.
This marks a significant shift from the previous Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted September 20 to 23, where the difference was 6 points.
When asked about tackling the “rising cost of living,” 44% of participants favoured Trump’s approach, compared to 38% who preferred Harris’s strategy. However, in a broader context, 55% believe Harris possesses a sharper mind to handle the country’s challenges, while 46% expressed the same confidence in Trump.
Notably, Harris has consistently led Trump in all six Reuters/Ipsos polls since she entered the race in late July. The U.S. presidential election is set for November 5.
