Trump, Netanyahu exchange views on Iran, Lebanon in high-level call

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone conversation during which they discussed developments related to Iran and Lebanon, Al Arabiya reports, citing Israeli media.

This latest phone conversation between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu comes amid a series of sharp disagreements that have tested their partnership in recent days.

In recent days, Israel's military actions against Hezbollah targets in Beirut and southern Lebanon, including strikes that prompted civilian evacuations and casualties, have heightened friction as they risk derailing US efforts to secure a nuclear agreement with Iran.

Tehran responded to these Lebanon operations with ballistic missile barrages toward Israel, triggering limited Israeli retaliatory strikes on Iranian sites such as petrochemical facilities before both sides paused direct exchanges.

Trump has expressed frustration with Netanyahu's approach to Lebanon, reportedly pressing for restraint to protect diplomatic progress, while Netanyahu has continued operations against Hezbollah despite cease-fire agreements and warned of further responses if provoked.
