Trump orders government to release UFO, extraterrestrial files
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to release government files related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs), unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and extraterrestrial life.
“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He added that the files cover “any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
Trump emphasised the importance of transparency, stating, “The American people have a right to know, and this information could be crucial to our understanding of the unknown.”
Earlier, Trump criticised former President Barack Obama over comments on extraterrestrial life, saying Obama had disclosed “classified information.”
Responding to questions about alien visits to Earth, Trump said he could neither confirm nor deny their existence. “Well, I don't know if they're real or not. I can tell you he [Obama] gave classified information. He's not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake,” he told reporters.
Obama previously spoke about aliens and Area 51 on the podcast No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen, acknowledging he believes in extraterrestrial life despite having no personal encounters.
