Trump promises to target drug cartels on land “We know where they live”
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that American forces will begin land operations against drug cartels, using the same methods employed in maritime strikes.
Speaking at a gala dinner at the Kennedy Center, the president underscored that authorities possess full information about the routes and residences of members of criminal groups.
“We know every route, every house where they live. We know everything about them,” Caliber.Az quotes Trump as saying.
He said after strikes on vessels in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the flow of drugs into the United States has decreased by 94%. “By the way, drugs coming into our country by sea down 94%.”
He added that authorities now intend to find out who these remaining 6% are and shut down all supply channels. “And I'm trying to figure out who the other 6% is because frankly I think they are the most they got to be the bravest people. Who were the 6% that are still trying to come in?”
“We're going to start that same process on land because we know every route. We know every house. We know where they live. We know everything about them. They killed 300,000 people last year. And that's like a war. That's like a terrible war. Not going to let it happen. So, uh, we're doing a job that nobody else could do,” Trump added.
