Trump refutes reports of proposed $300 million transfer to Iran
US President Donald Trump stated that the United States does not plan to pay Iran $300 million, dismissing reports to that effect as “fake news” being spread by Democrats. Trump did not specify which reports he was referring to.
The remarks appear to be linked to a report by the Financial Times, which claimed that the White House is considering the creation of a $300 billion fund for companies interested in investing in Iran’s reconstruction. The initiative would be aimed at supporting the modernisation of the country.
According to the newspaper’s sources, business representatives from the United States, Europe, and Asia — including Japan and South Korea — have already expressed interest in the project. Access to the funds would depend on compliance with the terms of the agreement, US Vice President JD Vance previously stated.
