Trump says he could have won Vietnam war in 3–4 months
US President Donald Trump has stated that if he had been in office during the Vietnam War, he would have secured victory in just three to four months, unlike the US leadership at the time.
In an interview with Fox News, he said the US were in Vietnam for 19 years and didn’t get it done because it didn’t have the right leadership, Caliber.Az reports.
“If it were me, I would have had that war done in three months, four month,” he noted.
According to Trump, the lack of a firm and effective strategy at the time led to a prolonged military conflict.
The war between the United States and Vietnam, which lasted from 1955 to 1975, was one of the largest military confrontations of the second half of the 20th century.
It ended with the liberation of Saigon by the Vietnam People’s Army from South Vietnamese forces, which were supported by the US Armed Forces.
