Trump says new Iran deal “far better than JCPOA”

Donald Trump has stated that Washington and Tehran are working on a new agreement that, in his view, would be more effective than the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: “The DEAL that we are making with Iran will be FAR BETTER than the JCPOA, commonly referred to as ‘The Iran Nuclear Deal,’ penned by Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden, one of the Worst Deals ever made having to do with the Security of our Country.”

The US President also claimed that the JCPOA had led to Iran receiving hundreds of billions of dollars. He added that, had the United States not withdrawn from the previous deal, Iran would already have used nuclear weapons against Israel and across the Middle East, including areas hosting American military bases.

Trump further stated that a future agreement would “guarantee Peace, Security, and Safety, not only for Israel and the Middle East, but for Europe, America, and everywhere else,” adding that it would be something “the entire World will be proud of.”
