Trump says "tariffs" is now his fifth-favourite word after media criticism

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had moved the word “tariffs” from first to fifth place on his list of favourite words after facing criticism from the media.

Speaking at a rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on August 21, Trump recalled his previous comments about tariffs and said he had repeatedly described the word as his favourite, Caliber.Az reports.

“I said the other day, and I’ve said it many times, and you’ve heard it many-many times. I’ve said ‘Tariffs is my all-time favourite word.’ I love tariffs. I love the word,” he said.

Trump then referred to criticism from the media over the remarks and said he had reconsidered the ranking.

“I said, ‘My favourite word is tariff.’ And those people back there, the fake news, they killed me. They went after me. No, they went after me. They said tariff is his favourite word. What about God? What about religion? What about your wife, your children? What about family? So, I made tariff my fifth favourite. And now I have no problem with the media. I have no problem anymore with the media. Tariff is my fifth favourite word,” he said.
