Trump says US expects to obtain Iranian enriched uranium after strikes

President Donald Trump said he believed the United States would obtain enriched uranium from Iran after American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, adding Washington was monitoring the sites “around the clock.”

Speaking to Fox News on May 14, Trump said the bombing campaign had severely damaged the targeted locations.

“We dropped bombs, every one of those bombs went down … the whole mountain collapsed on top of that site … They looked at it at the beginning, and they said there's no way that anybody can ever get down to the nuclear dust but I'd still rather have it. I'd rather get it … I just, I would feel better getting it too, and we will get it,” Trump said.

Trump added that the United States could launch further strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities if Tehran attempted to remove uranium from the sites.

“I told them [Iran] that if they have sent [Iran] force over there to try [remove uranium], all we'll do is just hit it with [Iran] couple of bombs, and that's going to be the end of that,” he said.

Trump also said the United States was keeping constant surveillance over the Iranian nuclear facilities targeted in the strikes.
