Trump rejects Ukraine’s offer to help in Middle East conflict
The United States does not need assistance from Ukraine in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC News.
Trump was responding to an offer from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had suggested that Ukraine could help American forces counter Iranian drones.
“The last person we need help from is Zelenskyy,” the US president said, adding, “We don’t need help.”
At the same time, Trump declined to answer a question about whether the United States is using Ukrainian technologies and expertise to counter Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles.
Zelenskyy earlier this month offered to help U.S. forces and their allies in the Middle East with intercepting Iranian drones, using the Ukrainian military’s experience with shooting down Russian drones.
