Trump says US will continue military campaign against Iran

The United States has no plans to end its military campaign against Iran anytime soon, US President Donald Trump has stated.

Speaking during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, he said the damage inflicted on Iran would take decades to overcome, Caliber.Az reports, citing Fox News.

"Now, nobody knows except the Iranians the damage that we've done to them. We have done damage that will take them 20, 25 years to recover from. So if we left tomorrow, we had a big success. But we're not leaving tomorrow," he noted.

Trump also claimed that Iran is seeking a new round of talks with the United States.

According to Trump, the United States will not be interested in talks until Iran is ready in a meaningful way.

He further warned that Washington would strike “any site where they're even thinking about nuclear, we'll be hitting it very, very powerfully.”
