Trump says US will maintain enhanced military presence near Iran
The United States intends to maintain an enhanced military presence in the Persian Gulf region to pressure Iran to comply with the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington, President Donald Trump has stated.
When asked how long the US military presence near Iran would continue, he said probably for some time “to see how it all goes,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Fox News.
“I think it is going to go well, but we’ll see,” the US president added.
The memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States has officially entered into force after being formally signed by the presidents of both nations, with the final text now approved and adopted.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said no signing ceremony will be held in Switzerland.
